Mrs. Rosetta “Rose” Cook Estes, of Currytown Road, Sprakers was called to her eternal home on Friday, February 26, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was 76. A lifelong area resident, she attended local schools and worked for Coleco in Amsterdam and Kasson & Keller in Fonda until her retirement. Rose was an angel on earth, and loved by everyone she touched. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. On May 10, 1958 she was united in marriage to Robert A. Estes. That loving union lasted for 47 years until his passing on April 23, 2006. She was also predeceased by her son, Allen in 2014; and her siblings, Sam Cook, William Cook, Margaret Wolowicz and Charles “Peanut” Cook. Her loving family includes her son Tom Estes of Randall, NY; daughter-in-law, Barbara Jo of Vail Mills, NY; three grandchildren, Christian Weaver of Alexandria, VA, Brian (Lisa) Barde of Pittsfield, MA, Michelle (Kevin) Sanford of Davenport, FL; great grandchildren Brandon, Logan, and Audra Mary; her siblings, Shirley Coleman of Fort Plain, NY, Peter Cook and his wife Donna of Fort Plain, NY, Beverly Staves of Little Falls, NY; her beloved cat, Fluffy; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Graveside Service of Remembrance will take place on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 1 o’clock at the Fordsbush Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
