Carla Ann Sperow

Carla Ann Sperow, 56, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at her home. Born on March 14, 1959 in Lackawanna, New York, she was a daughter of Roberta J. Nordblum Hutt and Clarence L. Sperow. Carla graduated from Hamburg High School in Hamburg, New York, and then went on to study for a few years at Fulton Montgomery Community College with the photography department. After 20 years, she retired from the NYS Thruway Authority as a toll booth collector. Carla was very active with the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church; acting as an usher, alter girl and involved with the Heralders. Carla loved her cats, in her past time she liked to garden, enjoyed motorcycles and loved to bowl. Carla will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Besides her parents, survivors include her siblings, George Sperow (Colleen), Linda Sperow and Paula Clifford (Ron); nieces and nephews, Lindsay, James, Patrick, Michelle and Renee; feline children, Willie, Wilma, Wally, Whalen, Thomas, Dixie, Callie, Cowboy, Punky and Smokey. She was predeceased by Dallas Sperow, Orville Hutt and Aunt Bette. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 4:00pm at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 42 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, with Rev. William T. Hodgetts, Jr. presiding. Callings hours will be held prior to the service beginning at 2:00pm Monday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Carla’s name to the Montgomery County SPCA, P.O. Box 484, Amsterdam, NY, 12010 or to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 42 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY, 12010.
